Lords Mobile T5 troops: how they work and what they cost
T5 is not trained from scratch. It is an upgrade of T4, paid for with Luminous Gear. Here is the whole path, with the numbers.

Troops come in five tiers, but only T1 to T4 are trained directly. T5 troops are made by upgrading T4 troops in the Barracks, and the upgrade is paid for with an item called Luminous Gear. That changes how you plan: a T5 army is a T4 army plus the same number of gears.
How the upgrade works
- Luminous Gear is crafted in the Lunar Foundry and used in the Barracks to upgrade T4 troops to T5.
- The rate is one gear per troop. Upgrading 5,000 infantry to the T5 Luminary Guard takes 5,000 Luminous Gears and 5,000 Heroic Fighter.
- The gear cost is quoted for a player who has finished the Gear research tree. Crafting speed and the number you can craft at once are raised by upgrading the Lunar Foundry, by Gear research and by Steampath equipment and jewels.
Might
A T5 troop counts for 48 might: 36 from the T4 troop it started as, plus 12 from the Luminous Gear. Pressing the upgrade in the Barracks does not add might itself, so the 12 comes from crafting the gear. The might guide has the full table of might per unit.
What a T5 army adds up to
Because T5 is T4 plus a gear, the T4 half of the bill is the same as training that many T4 infantry. This table shows that half for infantry at base speed, with the might the finished T5 army gives:
| T5 troops | Luminous Gears | T4 troops | T4 resources | T4 gold | T4 base time | T5 might |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | 1,000 | 1,000 | 1M food · 1M timber · 1M ore | 500K | 1d 9h 20m | 48K |
| 10,000 | 10,000 | 10,000 | 10M food · 10M timber · 10M ore | 5M | 13d 21h 20m | 480K |
| 100,000 | 100,000 | 100,000 | 100M food · 100M timber · 100M ore | 50M | 138d 21h 20m | 4.8M |
This is only the T4 half and the gear count: add the cost of crafting that many gears at the Lunar Foundry, which the game shows on its crafting screen. For other troop types the T4 resources differ, and the troop calculator shows them for any mix. It works out the T4 side for you, with your training-speed bonus.
